What are Blubloxx?

Blubloxx are colorful building blocks that allow children to build, play, and explore endlessly. But there’s something special about these blocks: they are not just made of plastic.

Each Blubloxx consists of 50% recycled plastic — plastic that remains from the production of high-quality plastic products.

Instead of this scrap material being thrown away, it is given a second life with us. In doing so, we collectively contribute to less waste, less depletion, and a cleaner earth.

Blubloxx is a new brand created by a passionate engineer and father who dealt with plastic remnants in the industry.

The founder of the Blubloxx brand is a plastics specialist and noticed during the production of, for instance, medical products, that a lot of plastic scraps were lost as waste. This high-quality plastic would otherwise be discarded.

From Scrap Material to Play Blocks

It all starts in a factory where high-quality plastic products are made. Throughout this process, some plastic always remains — small pieces, cut-offs, or material that doesn't meet the exact specifications.

Normally, this scrap material would be thrown away or burned. But at the Blubloxx factory in Germany, they do it differently.
Instead, this plastic is collected, melted down, and transformed into new, sturdy building blocks.

The result? Durable, safe, and solid Blubloxx, ready to be used by children all around the world.

Playing with a Good Conscience

When children play with Blubloxx, they’re not just building towers, castles, or rockets — they’re also building towards the future. Each block symbolizes reuse, responsible production, and thinking about tomorrow. Parents and schools can thus discuss sustainability in a fun and tangible way:

Playing and building with Blubloxx is not only fun, but also good for teamwork. What’s more beautiful than playing with other children or your parents and creating beautiful structures? The officially recommended minimum age is 3 years old, and we haven’t discovered the maximum age yet...

And the best part: Blubloxx can be recycled again! When the blocks have outlived their playful years, they can be returned to Play Blocks XL.

We ensure that the used blocks are neatly collected and sent back to our partner factory in Germany. There, they are processed again into new raw materials for other non-disposable plastic products like heatstixx which can store solar heat - Thus completing the cycle:

Quality, Safety, and Sustainability:

The blocks are tested and certified according to DIN EN 71. The Blubloxx building blocks are made from 50% recycled plastic. This plastic is leftover from the production of other plastic products, thus ensuring maximum sustainability.

For us, sustainability means the highest quality so that the play blocks can still be used years later. The blocks are also safe due to their rounded corners, making them very easy to stack and disassemble.

How it Works with Returning the Blocks.

As mentioned, the blocks can be sent back to Play Blocks XL after years of use or if their quality degrades to reduce playability.

- Option 1: You take care of the return shipping and pay the costs, in exchange, you get 10% off a new box of BluBloxx.

- Option 2: We send you a shipping label at our cost so you can drop off the package at a DHL service point.

We collect the blocks and will pass them on to the transporter who also picks up the new Blubloxx from Germany.

The manufacturer will grind them up and reuse them in other sustainable plastic products like HeatStixx, thus no disposable plastic.
